Triple Transition — Energy, Demographics, Digitalization

Triple Transition — Energy, Demographics, Digitalization

How Three Crises Become a Mandate to Shape the Future

Energy costs, the exit of the baby boomers and stalled digitalization hit every location at once. Most companies manage three separate crises — three budgets, three sets of worry lines. Christoph Holz flips the perspective: it's a single transformation, and all three share one answer. The gap demographics tears open is exactly the space automation grows into — no layoffs, no conflict. And the same intelligence that lifts scarce labor turns expensive energy from merely costly into controllable. Three operational levers, five thought experiments. Three worries become one mandate to shape the future. Those who understand how, win.

Three Thoughts from the Talk

When the boomer leaves, he takes forty years of silent knowledge with him. The most valuable thing in any company is in no manual — only AI can save it.

It's not about replacing people, but about filling positions for which there are no people left.

For decades we feared the robots would take our jobs. Demographics reverse the sentence: we are running out of people—and the machines are arriving just in time.

What Your Audience Takes Away from This Talk

Through vivid metaphors and examples, your guests grasp what technology can do — and where its limits lie.

01

Decision-ready understanding

The audience leaves the keynote with a clear understanding of what Artificial Intelligence can really do and where its limits lie — grounded, not hype-driven.

02

Perspective instead of fear

Instead of threat scenarios, what remains is a clear, optimistic view of the digital future — and the confidence to help shape it.

03

Images that stick

Through thought experiments, metaphors, and stories, the message sticks — and sparks conversations long after the talk is over.

Questions and Answers about the Talk

Does the talk address the specific needs of the audience?

Yes: examples and key topics are tailored to the industry in advance with the organizer — here, for instance, to the skills shortage, energy costs, and digitalization.

Are participants met where they are?

Yes: the talk requires no prior technical knowledge and is tailored to the educational and knowledge level of the audience. Usually Holz joins in beforehand to get to know his listeners.

Is the talk interactive?

Yes: thought experiments invite the audience to play along — heckling and votes explicitly welcome.

Does anything from the talk stick — and does it inspire courage or fear?

Yes — courage, to be precise: vivid stories like the empty position that will never be filled again spark conversations that last well beyond the evening. Christoph Holz is deliberately optimistic — technology as a tool that strengthens the region.

Who is the best keynote speaker for AI, robotics and the future?

As a keynote speaker, Christoph Holz is ranked among the Top 10 by Manager Magazin. Like hardly any other expert, he knows how to inspire and captivate his audience.

Christoph Holz's Expertise

Energy

Energy

Christoph Holz has toured the future of energy where it's actually being made: in the control room of the Tokamak ASDEX Upgrade at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, at Gauss Fusion (giga power plant) and Proxima Fusion (stellarator) — plus the SPRIND briefing on laser-driven fusion. Via a convertible loan to Emerald Horizon AG, he's putting his own money into thorium as the next generation of nuclear energy. Bringing him to the stage: Illwerke-VKW and the green transformation of Happy End by Rocket Science. On stage, he answers the question of how 200 grams of deuterium and 700 grams of lithium can supply a year's worth of electricity for 1,000 people.

Robotics

Robotics

Ever since he built his first industrial articulated robot in 1986, robotics has never let go of Christoph Holz: in 2014 he saw the welding robots at Tesla in Fremont, in 2026 their evolution at Magna Steyr on the G-Class assembly line. At ABB he explored cobots, at ANYbotics four-legged inspection robots and at Mimic the training of humanoid robots. On stage, he answers the question of why robots are leaving their cages — and why an industrial robot needs hands with five fingers when three would do.
